In this tutorial we are going to use the Magic
Wand and the Flood Fill Tools.
Open Paintshop Pro. Go to FILE and then
BROWSE , from My Documents or My Pictures open your
image by double clicking on it.
Now move your mouse over the COLOUR PALETTE
and choose your colour by LEFT clicking on it.
(Left click to select your foreground Colour and Right Click to
select a Background colour.)

The colour you have chosen shows in the box
at the bottom of the Colour Palette
Activate the MAGIC WAND
on the toolbar
Select TOOL OPTIONS
on the menu bar at the top
of your
workspace and use these settings

If you hold down the shift key you can select multiple areas of your
image, just click each section you wish to colour and "Marching Ants"
(the dotted lines) will appear

Now go to SELECTIONS - MODIFY - EXPAND

Type in 2
Activate the FLOOD FILL TOOL,

and
Select these settings

place it over the part of the image you want to
colour. Holding the Shift Key down the whole time Left click to apply the foreground
colour in the outer sections.

NOW GO TO SELECTIONS - MODIFY -
EXPAND - TYPE IN 2

Go to SELECTIONS - SELECT NONE
Select the Magic Wand
and click in the middle section of the Star,

Select The FLOODFILLTOOL
again
Flood fill with your background colour by Right clicking in it,
Go to SELECTIONS - SELECT NONE
Click on the Magic Wand
icon and
then choose TOOL OPTIONS
use the following settings

With the MAGIC WAND
(and holding down the
shift key) click on each section the image - until all the
image is selected (do NOT select the background)

Go to the Menu Bar and choose EFFECTS - 3D EFFECTS -
DROPSHADOW
You will get this box

Click OK
Apply the
Dropshadow again this time putting in -3 for Vertical and -3 for
Horizontal

Go back to the Menu Bar,
and go to SELECTIONS - SELECT NONE
Activate the Magic wand again. Use the following settings

Now select the white background of your image by clicking on it with the
MAGIC WAND
,

Choose another Background colour by right clicking on the Colour
Pallette
Select the FLOODFILL TOOL
again and Right click on the Background to
colour the background
You should now have your finished image
