Open Paintshop Pro and go to FILE - NEW
Click OK
Go to your colour palette
and set the Texture Box to NULL
(it doesn't
matter about the colour in the Style box at this stage)
To do this click
the little triangle
You will then get
this box, select NULL as shown
Now go to PRESET SHAPES  and
select it,
Go to TOOL OPTIONS on the toolbar
You will now see this box, click on the window to view the shapes, for
this text I have chosen the Ellipse Shape
Check the ANTIALIAS and CREATE AS VECTOR BOXES,
Starting slightly from the top left corner hold down your left mouse
button and drag it down towards the bottom right corner.
(if you do it wrong, just click UNDO
and try again)
You should now have this
(it doesn't matter about the colour)
Select your TEXT TOOL 
and click inside the canvas,
Run your cursor over the middle small white square down the side of the
box until you see an A with a curve underneath
Now click, and you will get the text box
Make sure you
take NULL off your FILL box and then choose the colour of
your text in both boxes
Chose your Font, name, colour and size and make sure ANTIALIAS and
FLOATING are checked,
Make sure that you have CENTRE ALIGNMENT SELECTED
or your text will not be at the top.
Click OK
Your name should appear in the canvas like this
Go to SELECTIONS - SELECT NONE
This box will appear
Select YES
Now select the layer Palette on the toolbar
Click the + sign beside Layer 2
Where it says ELLIPSE click on the glasses symbol so it has a red
cross on it
Now DESELECT
Your vector box will disappear and your name should look like this
Go to LAYERS - MERGE - MERGE VISABLE
To save as transparent, go to COPY
 then go
to FILE - JASC SOFTWARE PRODODUCTS - LAUNCH
ANIMATION SHOP
Once in Animation Shop select PASTE
You will notice your text defaults to the cropped size
Go to FILE - SAVE AS
Give your file a name and save.
You should now have your Arched text
